2020 has been a very challenging year for everyone. In fact, we were so close to giving up over the last summer.
Our zeal started to fade.
Our relationship was tested.
We had the same heart for serving people, but we had different views on how we wanted to serve.
We just weren’t on the same page.
But if there’s one thing that we’ve learned here is to never give up (which is one of our four core values). And never giving up doesn’t mean to fight to your death. Never giving up means believing that you can – and as long as you believe you can, then do it.
So what happened?
The EOS Experience
After having gone through the EOS training, we could finally put feet and words to what we actually wanted in a very simple, practical, powerful way.
Sure, we did wreck our entire existence in 2020. But something had to be broken down to make space for a new beginning – bigger, better, and bolder!
What is EOS?
EOS stands for Entrepreneurial Operating System. It's a product of the book written by Gino Wickman called Traction, which is geared around helping you break through that ceiling.
EOS can be used by anyone. It's actually designed for organizations that have teams of 10 to 250 or who are doing a revenue of $2 million or more. But the earlier you start, the better off you are.
EOS forces you to make it simple. You have to get clear because if you're not clear, people are going to get confused. And if people are confused, it's going to be too complicated and you're going to run into problems.
The EOS Way
- 90-minute meeting – you get the EOS tenets
- Focus day – you introduce your accountability chart. It's confusing but it forces you to get clear on accountability, which is a huge thing in driving results and making sure you have the capacity to do what you say you can do. You also have to do a lot of unlearning.
- Two vision-building days
- Quarterly re-evaluation – You're not waiting years. And you're creating goals that actually matter.
