Did you know that the average podcast listener is subscribing to six shows?

93% of podcast listeners listen to more than half or all of an episode.

People listen to an average of 90 minutes of audio a day, most of which is a podcast.

Whether it's just creating a relationship or making a sale, whether it's a new client or building a community, a podcast is a great marketing platform for you to get client leads, start new products and test things out, and figure out what is the minimum viable product.

Podcasting is a Good Profit Decision

With podcasting, you’re able to repurpose your podcast content into other formats such as video content, a blog, social media content, etc.

Now, you won’t have to do 10 different things because you only need to do one thing, repurpose that, and get some mileage out of that. That way, you’re able to maximize your time, energy, and money.

And profit is measured in time, energy, or money. So there’s probably no other better bang for your marketing buck than launching a podcast, as long as you're willing to commit to it and have the right partners in place to push it forward.

Here are things to consider in launching your own podcast:

  1. Talk to your audience like you talk to a friend.

The best podcaster sounds like they're talking to you personally. If you can do that, it creates a bond that then leads to success in some way through that content.

  1. Be authentic.

If people are going to see you as a friend, they choose you as a friend because they like you. They don't like the made-up version of you. Each episode could run from 20-45 minutes and that's a lot of time that people are listening to you. But they're not going to listen if you’re not authentic. You can't fake it. Otherwise, people see past that and they gravitate to those people who are more authentic.

  1. Be consistent.

Show up every week because you’re building a relationship. And no one wants to be ghosted by their friends. It’s a relationship so it’s intimate between you and the listener – and that is the core. That's your inner circle, the people you can rely on to give you feedback, to participate, to join your email list, and to do all those things.
